Studio A
Picture yourself in a softly lit, large open room standing in front of the same $7,000.00 microphone used by an uncountable list of musical icons, looking through a 10 foot by 4 foot window as you begin to lay down your vocal tracks. This is the professional Studio experience you will get in Studio A at Rome Recording.
Studio A is our flagship studio and is equipped with an industry standard Pro Tools HD4 system, a wide-array of top-notch plug-ins, a large collection of desirable vintage and modern microphones, and quality outboard gear. With the ability to record 32 simultaneous inputs and playback over 100 tracks, there's no project we can't handle. Studio A also offers you the option of recording to 2" 24-track analog tape. We even can run your tracks through the tape machine just to get the famous tape warmth. Thus we are merging the classic sound of analog with the editing power of digital. When your project demands the best, Studio A at Rome is the place to be. For a complete list of the equipment in Studio A, please check out our Equipment List.
Studio A consists of a comfortable, spacious control room (Columbus's largest!), a sizeable live tracking room that can accommodate large ensembles and choirs, and an isolation booth. Each of these spaces is acoustically designed and treated to assure that you get the best possible sound. For more on the acoustics of Studio A and why they matter, please visit the Acoustic Design page.
Furthermore, Rome is a place where you can relax and enjoy the process of recording. From the inviting couch in the control room to the spectrum of lighting possibilities and refrigerator full of drinks, Rome will bring out the best in your performances and make you feel right at home. Make no mistake, Rome is not a cramped basement studio; it is a world class facility that will make you feel and sound like a star. Stop in for a tour and see for yourself!
Finally, Studio A offers several instruments for clients to use: a six-piece DW custom drumset with three snare drums and a full compliment of Zildjian cymbals, a Baldwin R Grand Piano, a Hammond B3 organ with Leslie speaker, various keyboards, bass amps, guitar amps, and more!
