Rome Recording offers full-scale custom duplication services. The discs, dubbing, on-disc thermal printing, insert packaging, case and tray, assembly, and even shrink-wrapping; we can do it all for you. Although we do quantities from 10 to 10,000, most people order in the 200 – 500 CD range. The customers who order in the 200 – 500 range appreciate our excellent prices because most companies don’t offer good prices unless you order 1000 or more. We find our clients have better uses for their money than to tie it up in more CDs than they need. With lower quantities they don’t have to risk getting stuck with CDs they can't sell. Our pricing allows them to buy in more affordable quantities and still make a great profit on their CDs. The packages are completely customizable so you only pay for what you want. Feel free to call or stop in for a quote.

Graphic Artwork/Insert & Traycard Production
Working from client-provided photos, we can produce the CD inserts and traycards that you want and that your project requires. We work with directly with our clients to create the look and layout they want for their CDs.
Inserts (what you see in the front of the jewel case) can be either 2-page, 4-page, 6-page, and 8-page booklets. Please note that a 2-page booklet is actually only one sheet of paper, with each side counting as a page. You can choose full-color or black-and-white, either singly or in combination.
Traycards, which line the back side of the jewel case (often where track listings are found) and also include the spines along the case edges, can be single or double-sided (a clear tray must be used for double-sided). Once again, you have the choice between full-color or black-and-white.
Examples of Rome-Produced Packages
Just Forgiven's CD layout is an example of one of our most economical packages. It includes basic insert setup: Single-sided front cover and a single-side traycard.

Shaun Booker's CD is an example of a 4-page booklet. Shaun chose full-color for the outside pages and the traycard, but black-and-white for the inside text.

Some artists, such as Willoughby Stump and Outlier, choose to have their own graphic artists prepare their CD graphics. This is perfectly acceptable and Rome prides itself on working with outside graphic artists to produce the best look for the client's project.
Thermal Printing
Black Thermal Printing
Most artists opt to use thermal printing to put title and tracklist information on their CDs. It is economical and looks far better than labels.
Below are examples of single-color (black) thermal printed discs.
Color Thermal Printing
Unlike inkjet printing, which can smudge and run, color thermal printing offers an extremely high quality, permanent, and professional look for very little money. Many artists are now choosing thermal printing over silk-screening, as color thermal printing has a higher resolution, which translates into better image quality. If you desire silk-screening, we can also do that, though it often requires a minimum order of 1,000 CDs due to the effort involved in preparing the silkscreen. We are now offering full-color thermal printing, which looks amazing! The examples below are Willoughby Stump's and Beyond Repair's latest CDs.
